“And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Is 65:24
“Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me.” Psalm 66:20
“When hard pressed, I cried to the LORD; he brought me into a spacious place.” Ps 118:5
Every step on this path, God has provided. He has placed people around me who are willing to cook, clean and shop for groceries. (Thank you!!!) He has given me amazing friends who are always there or just a phone call or text away with prayer, kind words, or a good laugh. God has also provided friends who are able to give wise counsel and encouragement.
Our life journeys can be troublesome at times, yes, but if we call on the Lord for help, he hears and will help us! Sometimes we get so caught up in the pain, stress, and difficulty that we forget to take time to consider all of the ways God has provided along the way.
Just the other day, I found an excellent reminder at the bottom of my purse. The daughter of a really good friend gave me a note and I must have put it in my purse and forgotten about it. She is 7 years old and couldn’t possibly understand how much these words would be a comfort to me. But God understands. He knows my heart better than I know it myself.
How amazing that we are loved by a God so personal, so lovely, so Divine. I believe God chooses to work through people and this time He picked a sweet, compassionate, bright young girl. I’d like to imagine there was a moment when God reached his holy hand to this dirty earth and touched a little girl’s heart with love for me, because he cares for every detail in the lives of those he loves. (That is truly astounding especially since I can be so rotten!)
The note will always have special meaning to me. I will cherish it and refer to it frequently in the days to come. I am already walking slowly and with a bit of a waddle at times. I am really struggling with stairs and distance. But God provides every step (literally for me) of the way and I am loved the way I am!
People, society, and the world cannot always be counted on for unconditional love. However, concerning Jesus, REST ASSURED, you are loved “the way you are.”
Hi Katie, hang in there and was veryt nice of your friends daughter to give you that letter hope it gives you great encouragement i keep praying! Love kathy
